…You may want to head on over to Soccer Goalz Inc which provides quality portable Soccer Goals at fairly reasonable prices. This easy on the eyes and fast loading website provides a variety of portable soccer goals, from pop up ones to backyard tournament designs, as well as soccer backstops and soccer rebounders. Many of the items listed can be used, not just for soccer, but other net-sports as well. Practicing hockey or lacrosse? These goals will suit your needs just fine. In fact, Soccer Goalz Inc also carry pvc and metal hockey goals too.

Soccer Goalz Inc using a secure shopping cart and checkout service provided by Yahoo! Stores for your ordering. If you are planning on buying more than one item and or wish to see the contents of your shopping cart the layout of the website makes it a bit difficult. There is no readily apparent link to view one’s cart on the navigation to at the top of the page or the left-hand column. I would strongly urge the creators and owners of this site to add that feature as it makes the shopping experiance much more easier and enjoyable. If I have to keep adding and then deleting items in order to just view my cart’s contents I would be inclined to give up and find another store. So this feature really should be added.

As for shipping and handling, they offer a flat shipping rate of $10 for ground mail. Since you know these items are not going to light that is a fairly good deal. Ground shipping can take five to seven business days and is available in the States only. For expedited shipping they also offer other options.

Retail Job Growth

Published by Joana under Business, Buzz, Money

Retail jobs are on the rise. Retail is one of the largest industry segments today, estimated to currently employ 12 percent of the workforce according to the US Census Bureau. Additionally the retail workforce is growing. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the retail workforce is expected to grow by 10 percent over a 10-year span to a total population of 11 million (2004 – 2014). This growth indicates vast opportunities in retail jobs, including retail management jobs, retail sales jobs, retail customer service jobs, retail loss prevention jobs and the list of retail jobs goes on. With all the growth in the retail industry, job seekers who are considering a retail job have the benefit of choice when it comes to the type of store to work in as well as the job. If you or someone you know are looking for a job in retail, check out www.RetailFit.com, an online job board focused exclusively on retail jobs ranging from management, hourly and part time positions from the nation’s top retailers.

CollegeNET and Scholarship Election

Published by Joana under Buzz, People, School & Education

There are a plethora of companies and websites out there that offer scholarships to help fund a student’s college career. I imagine you could think of at least three such places off the top of your head, but can you think of one that has a scholarship election system?

CollegeNET.com utilizes a unique system, which they call “scholarship election”, that essentially allows the students to determine who should and should not be awarded the scholarship funds. The process through which the students can determine the eligibility of one another is rather interesting as it incorporates aspects that everyone can agree are essential to academic and just real-world growth.

Each month students are given topics that they can expound upon. Topics range from forever hot-button-topics like abortion and religion to current events. Each student can cast votes on these discussions. At the end of each month, on midnight, the votes are tabulated and the top students who have accumulated the most voting points are awarded the scholarship money and discussion begins anew for the next month.

The ability to formulate and express one’s thoughts and opinions into a cohesive argument is something that cannot be taught in solely in a classroom. It is a skill that is acquired and honed through practice. But if one does not receive constructive criticism along the way their development will be severely stunted. CollegeNET’s system allows for both. Students are able to get practice on how to better express themselves and the voting system allows them to track their progress and improve their skills. I find this to be highly preferable to the old system of just sending in an essay and hoping the person that is reading them isn’t too bored, tired, or upset, when they get to yours.

TrustedPlaces: The Trusted Site for Great Spots

Published by Joana under Buzz, Entertainment, Fashion, Food & Drink

TrustedPlaces.com is an easy to use, and easy on the eyes, website whose aim is to provide feedback and ratings on different spots to hang out, eat and drink in cities from around the world. Users leave feedback on places they’ve been, telling others what the service was like and the overall experiance. From this you can better decide which places warrant a visit and which should be avoided at all costs.

Just because London restaurants and clubs happen to be the most popular sections of the site doesn’t mean that the website is geared exclusively to the European crowd. ;)

Free Layouts and Graphics at Pagefetti

Published by Joana under Buzz, Technology, Webdesign

I’m not much of a myspace user myself, but when I am there I am rather appalled at the [lack of] quality that a lot of myspace users seem to enjoy displaying on their pages. Hey, just because you have some graphics that look great means that they look great together! :) That’s where pagefetti.com comes in.

Pagefetti provides a wealth of Myspace layouts, backgrounds, graphics, generators, comdes, pimps, animations, and tweaks. Just about everything you need to give your page a new look that won’t blind your visitors or crash their computers. Don’t believe me? Check out the samples they have displayed right on their main page. Very nice and not at all garish. I would highly recommend that you check out their Myspace layouts, for sure.

What makes this site even more appealing is that it’s all free and there is no registration required. It’s also not limited to Myspace either, they have plenty available for Blogger and Zwinky profile pages well. Plus a fun little toolbar that you can use to find new free stuff.

As for the glitter and animations, they have those too. But remember folks, too much of a good thing can be bad, so try not to go too crazy with all of their fun and cool graphics. ;)
