Time to Say Goodbye

Published by Joana under Blogging

Welcome to Scuttlebutt Pipeline! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or sign up to receive email notifications of new entries.
Also, don't forget to check out Fifty for the Fall, your chance to win $50 cash - no strings attached!

As you might have guessed by the lack of updates her for an extended period of time I’ve decided to close down this blog and instead focus my efforts on my personal blog and my book blog.

Initially I created this blog because there were some complaints from readers at my personal blog that blogging about news articles that interested me detracted from my blog. But as time went on I felt more and more constrained rather than free and blogging became a chore. So from now I say screw what others say, I’m blogging how I want to blog. If you’re still looking for some wacky and interesting news bit then keep an eye on my personal blog as that’s where you’ll find ‘em. ;)

Better to be Safe than Sorry

Published by Joana under Blogging, Buzz, Webdesign

I really cannot stress this enough folks, if you value your site’s content then Back It Up. I’ve read two different blogs today where the owners stated that they were installing some new plugins and widgets and somehow lost everything and now are stuck having to start over from scratch. There really is no need for this!

On a regular basis you really should go in and back up all of your site’s files and store them somewhere other than on your computer’s hard drive, because if your computer experiences technical glitches then you’re in the same boat. Some good choices are to use discs, thumbdrives, or external hard drives. Obviously if your content is fairly large backing it up on one of these can get very pricey pretty fast, so a good alternative is online storage. One place that I would recommend checking out is IBackup.com they have an easy to use interface that allows your online data to appear as a folder on your computer. It is set up in a manner similar to Internet Explorer browsers so it’s easy to understand and use, and it allows for simple drag and drop. Easy as pie.
