The nerd within me is rejoicing and doing a happy dance that is most definately defying the laws of gravity right now. But with this kind of news can you blame me:
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - The skeleton of what is believed to be a new dinosaur species — a 105-foot (32-meter) plant-eater that is among the largest dinosaurs ever found — has been uncovered in Argentina, scientists said Monday.
Scientists from Argentina and Brazil said the Patagonian dinosaur appears to represent a previously unknown species of Titanosaur because of the unique structure of its neck. They named it Futalognkosaurus dukei after the Mapuche Indian words for “giant” and “chief,” and for Duke Energy Argentina, which helped fund the skeleton’s excavation.
I’m not exactly thrilled to hear that the new dinosaur’s name includes the company that helped to fun the dig, to me that just screams of commercialism to an awful extent though. Other than that, I’m thrilled by this new discovery and I can’t wait to read and hear what new information this find could yield. The archaeological record has so many gaps and holes in it, but with each new piece we get that much clearer of a picture.

Oh I bet the title of this entry really caught your attention didn’t it? Sorry to say, this entry isn’t about having sex and music together, well maybe in way it is. IndieMV - Musical Intercourse, happens to be the catchphrase that they coined.
To the point, IndieMV.com is a social networking site that is place for independent musicians to get their sound out there and known. It also aims to provide a social networking service for not just the musicians, but the fans. Some of the features that IndieMV has to offer are video blogging, web-cam messaging, photo sharing, and of course, access to hundreds of music videos and interviews from independent artists. I would strongly recommend that any person who calls them self an “indie music fan” check this site out. Even if you’re more into mainstream music, this might be a good place to connect with other music fans and to hear some new bands.
On one hand this place might not seem very different from other social networking sites that allow you to video blog or upload your own videos, but here is one major difference I saw that (at least for the bands) will perk some interest. IndieMV wants to help independent artists get out there and get known and as a result they regularly provide opportunities for bands on IndieMV to gain the exposure they need by offering bands a range of opportunities to perform in front of new and different audiences. Right now IndieMV is holding one such opportunity which will send a band to Montreal, Canada. The band lucky band will not only receive roundtrip airfare and two nights accomodation, but the opportunity to perform on stage at the Unite Against AIDS concert.

He announced that he wanted to become the boyfriend of one particular woman but would remain chaste. His love for her has never been questioned, and he has supported her and her child financially, but the ruling has come down and the Rev. Sante Sguotti has been removed from his office.
The Rev. Sante Sguotti can no longer work as pastor in his Monterosso parish and cannot hear confessions from the faithful, the diocese of Padua said in a statement. Sguotti remains a priest and can celebrate Mass, however.
Sguotti made headlines in August when he went on national television to say he was in love with a woman and wanted to be her boyfriend publicly while remaining chaste.

Now, from a historical point of view, it wasn’t until relatively [in the history of Christianity] that the clergy were forbidden from being married and had to remain chaste. Read the bible ladies and gentlemen, no where does it say that a priest has to be celibate and unmarried in order to lead a congregation. It wasn’t until one pope came forward and changed this that this went into effect. The fact that they do allow some of priests to marry but not all based on region is rather absurd.

If an animal does something to injure your fragile ego you are in right to retaliate in any way you see fit. At least that’s what some young men in San Francisco thought:
A man was sentenced to five months in jail after he and a friend, acting on wounded pride, gunned down an ostrich that had kicked them as their female companions laughed […]
(full story)
So an animal kicked them and their female friends laughed. Big whoop. How can that possibly justify killing the animal? These guys have serious anger management issues and a low value of self worth if they felt that the murder of an innocent animal that had no malicious thoughts or intentions were justified.
To give them only five months for this is ridiculous. An ostrich kicked them and some women laugh, so they whipped out their guns and opened fire. What’s going to happen when someone cuts these guys off in traffic or a girl turns them down?
