I really cannot stress this enough folks, if you value your site’s content then Back It Up. I’ve read two different blogs today where the owners stated that they were installing some new plugins and widgets and somehow lost everything and now are stuck having to start over from scratch. There really is no need for this!
On a regular basis you really should go in and back up all of your site’s files and store them somewhere other than on your computer’s hard drive, because if your computer experiences technical glitches then you’re in the same boat. Some good choices are to use discs, thumbdrives, or external hard drives. Obviously if your content is fairly large backing it up on one of these can get very pricey pretty fast, so a good alternative is online storage. One place that I would recommend checking out is IBackup.com they have an easy to use interface that allows your online data to appear as a folder on your computer. It is set up in a manner similar to Internet Explorer browsers so it’s easy to understand and use, and it allows for simple drag and drop. Easy as pie.

I backup online, and will be purchasing a thumb drive soon; maybe two. When you drop hundreds (thousands?) of hours into these blogs, it has to be heartbreaking to loose it all.
I always use this service to backup all my blogs.
Jeremy,
That’s it exactly. The time one invests in their sites/blogs is extraordinary and to loose it all is heartbreaking. And yet, given the time and effort placed into these sites one would think their owners would automatically think to back things up.
I swear I must have a dozen copies in various locales for safety precautions. lol
Thank you for letting us knows about IBackup. To tell the truth, backing up our data is something we don’t do frequently. Once we have lost all our work and effort during months, we start to appreciate the importance of doing backups.
Yes it is necessary to take back up of all data at some period of time. I used to go for ibackup.com but you may found that Microsoft is also providing free data hosting services.
Thank You, for letting us know about ibackup i have used them for couple clients and it ok
Happy Holiday
