Now this is just absolutely pathetic and completely undermines the entire justice system:

Hilton’s Jail Term Cut to About 23 Days
May 16, 9:06 PM EST

Paris Hilton will serve about half of her 45-day jail sentence and will be separated from the general inmate population, authorities said Wednesday.

The hotel heiress will spend about 23 days in a “special needs housing unit” at the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood, Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

Her sentence was shortened after jail officials gave her credit for good behavior, Whitmore said. Officials considered several factors in calculating the credit, including that she appeared for her latest court date, he said.

Hilton will stay in a unit that contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates, he said.

Like everyone else in the 2,200-inmate facility, Hilton will get at least an hour outside her cell each day to shower, watch television, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone, he said.

The 26-year-old socialite was sentenced to jail this month for violating the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case. A judge ordered her to report to jail by June 5.

A call to her lawyer, DUI specialist Richard Hutton, was not immediately returned. Her publicist, Elliot Mintz, declined to comment.

This bimbo had the gall to call her light sentence cruel and unusual then bombard Gov. Schwarzenegger’s office until he made the official statement that he had better things to do, and yet they decided to reward her with this baloney? What an utter disgrace and farce.

Inmates of the jail Hilton will be sent to, I implore you, help her to wake up and see the world around her. She needs it and apparently the CJS won’t do it and her parents already passed the buck on that job.

I think this is total crap and just goes to show you our legal system is not just and fare it is about how much money your parents have that can save your ass. She sucks and the fact that she is getting a lighter sentence sends a wonderful message to the world young, white and dumb, with rich parents makes you able to do whatever you want. I guess this generation will have Paris, Nicole & Lindsey all to thank for there legacy which is NOTHING.

Good Behavior? What did they base this on? How do you get the tiime off for good behavior ahead of time? Especially when you have never shown that you know what good behavior is. I could go on and on, but don’t really care.

I completely agree. This is bullshit, if you or I had done the same thing it would be our asses but because she’s a rich slutty bitch she gets it all. Well fuck her in her ass.

I doubt I will be popular here for saying this, but I can’t see why people ought to be imprisoned for this type of offence. Jail is the worst punishment our society has to offer; surely community service would be more appropriate. After all, it’s not as though she is a violent offender.

What a travesty. Of course they had to put her in special custody, the general population would have torn her apart. Its too bad she couldn’t get a taste of real jail. She needs a wake up call and this isn’t it. She should have to do the full 45 days like everyone else (she got a huge break by only getting 45 in the first place). Perhaps the networks could just ban her from TV and every other form of media. Maybe that would give her a clue to clean up her act and act like an adult for once.
